Flavourful and packed with vitamins – cooking with a steam cooker
More and more consumers are prioritizing a healthy lifestyle and diet. One method of preparing food particularly gently is steam cooking. A steam cooker is easy to integrate into your kitchen design and completes the look of your kitchen.
Cooking has a long tradition
Cooking food is nothing new: this method of preparing food was already being used in Chinese tradition over 2000 years ago. No wonder, because steaming offers several advantages.
Advantages of a steam cooker
With a steam cooker, you can not only prepare meals quickly, but also cook in a health-conscious way. With steam cooking, the heat is distributed evenly and the steam envelops the ingredients. This means they are cooked slowly and gently. This method preserves the vitamins and minerals in the food. Not only that, but the food also tastes better: vegetables stay crisp and meat is nice and juicy. You can even put frozen food in the steamer.
How steam cooking works
To steam cook, the ingredients are placed in a tray. This tray is inserted into the appliance. There is a water bowl beneath the steamer basket, which is heated to 100 degrees Celsius. During the steaming process, the steam rises and begins to cook the ingredients. Using the control panel, you can select exactly which steam cooking programme you wish to use.
You can choose from a range of steam cooker models. We at Möbel Ehrmann would be happy to advise you on steam cookers. Why not come along to one of our informative steam cooking demonstrations?
