These inspiring personalities are our *Sustainability Heroes* – they bring sustainability to life with creative ideas, courage and tireless commitment.

Love at first sight!

That's how our buyer Patricia Grünenwald felt when she had her first appointment with Recozy. She immediately fell in love with the vases made from recycled plastic and added a young, innovative and sustainable company to our range. A hero in purchasing!

Reusable shipping bags instead of plastic film

Our logistics manager Mr D'Alessandro saw the amount of bubble wrap in which our sofa sets were packed for shipping and thought to himself: There's a better way! Here we go - he developed a reusable bag.

CO₂ Organisational talent

Sina Grasmehr is doing an apprenticeship and, together with 16 colleagues, has measured our first CO₂ footprint together with 16 colleagues and has fought her way through a huge amount of data! What's next? She is currently in the process of developing our CO₂ reduction strategy. A CO₂ hero!

The bicycle was invented for Rochus

Our IT employee Rochus Helm is a passionate cyclist, and not just in good weather. He cycles 30 kilometres to our office every day, whatever the weather. If you are planning to cycle more often - let Rochus' enthusiasm infect you!

Renewable energies are the future

From planning to construction, our colleagues from Controlling, Ms Hildenbrand and Mr Koster, managed these projects. In the meantime, we have been able to connect solar plants in Landau, Rastatt and Frankenthal to the grid. Möbel Ehrmann has thus focussed on renewable energies and innovation at an early stage.

CLIMATE

Climate protection – safeguarding our livelihoods together

Protecting our climate means securing the basis for a healthy and fulfilling life – today and for future generations. Since 2021, we at Möbel Ehrmann have therefore been measuring our CO₂ footprint to understand exactly where the most emissions are generated in our company. We not only consider the direct emissions from our business activities, but also the indirect emissions along our entire supply chain. In our climate report, we provide an insight into our impact on the climate, the reduction measures we have already implemented and our plans for an even more climate-friendly future.

We have already implemented this to reduce our impact on climate change:

WE RELY ON RENEWABLE ENERGIES. Our furniture stores in Rastatt and Frankenthal as well as the Landau logistics centre and our office building are powered by solar energy. In 2023, we produced 420 thousand kWh of electricity from the systems.

WE ARE ELECTRIFYING OUR CAR FLEET. More than half of our car fleet has been converted to electric or hybrid drive through our e-car policy.

WE SAVE ELECTRICITY. We have converted our furniture stores in Frankenthal, Reilingen and Herxheim to LED and also implemented many measures that will enable us to save 30% electricity in 2023.

BICYCLING IS GOOD FOR THE CLIMATE AND FOR HEALTH Thanks to our cooperation with Jobbike, we offer our employees attractive cycling options. Already 35 employees are happy Jobbike riders.

Consumption meets sustainability—is that really possible?

Can we consume with a clear conscience and act sustainably at the same time? This is the question that drives us at Möbel Ehrmann. Where do the materials such as fabrics, wood and electrical components used in the products you find online and in our stores come from? And how were these products manufactured? In future, we want to give you the opportunity to see at a glance just how sustainable a product really is. Transparent information and external certifications are essential to us, and this is exactly what we are working hard to achieve. When curating our product range, our procurement team focuses in particular on high-quality and durable products.

Sustainable trainee projects for a better future

Our trainees are the future managers. That is why we provide them with high-quality training. In addition to the regular training program, trainees are given the opportunity to work on sustainability projects every year, helping to make the company more sustainable.

We are committed to the region

The beautiful Palatinate is our home and is close to our hearts. That is why we want to support the region by sponsoring the Ehrmann Cycling Team, amongst other initiatives. In this way, we enable a team of six passionate and ambitious athletes to pursue their goals without financial constraints. Since its foundation in 2008, the team has achieved an incredible 242 victories. We wish them continued success!
