Ehrmann acquires Wohnland Breitwieser in Heidelberg

Heidelberg, 28 March 2025 – The Breitwieser and Ehrmann families announced today that Wohnland Breitwieser GmbH is to be acquired by Ehrmann Wohn- und Einrichtungs GmbH, based in Landau in the Palatinate. In a friendly and cooperative agreement, both families have agreed that Breitwieser’s existing business activities will be fully integrated into the corporate structure of Möbel Ehrmann with effect from 1 May 2025. With this decision, Breitwieser’s values and traditions will be carried forward within the renowned Ehrmann company.

Existing employment contracts will remain in place and the entire Breitwieser workforce will be integrated into Ehrmann Wohn- und Einrichtungs GmbH, thereby offering employees secure career prospects. Ongoing orders will also be processed correctly. Furthermore, Ehrmann will honour all warranty claims.

The Breitwieser family has successfully run the company for many years and is proud of its long history and the strong values associated with Breitwieser in the Rhine-Neckar region. Recognising the challenges and opportunities presented by the current economic climate, both parties see the takeover by Ehrmann as the best way to future-proof and expand the Heidelberg site. “It was important to us that our company not only be preserved, but also continued in an environment that lives up to our values. Ehrmann shares these values, and we are convinced that the integration of Breitwieser into Ehrmann is the best move for our staff and customers,” explains the Breitwieser family.
