Ehrmann secures the future of the Breitwieser site in Heidelberg

Heidelberg, 16 June 2025 – As part of an asset deal effective 1 May 2025, Ehrmann Wohn- und Einrichtungs GmbH has taken over significant parts of the business operations and the premises of the now-insolvent Breitwieser GmbH in Heidelberg. The operational handover has already been successfully completed, and business operations are continuing under the new owner.

With this acquisition, Ehrmann is not only ensuring the continued existence of this long-established furniture retailer, but also safeguarding all jobs at the site. The existing workforce has been integrated into Ehrmann Wohn- und Einrichtungs GmbH.

Ehrmann Wohn- und Einrichtungs GmbH has also taken over the complete processing of all outstanding orders with effect from 1 May 2025; these will be handled with care and reliability. Any advance payments already made remain valid without restriction. Delivery is now also handled by Möbel Ehrmann. Furthermore, all vouchers issued by Breitwieser remain fully valid and can be redeemed at Ehrmann within their standard three-year validity period.

With this acquisition, Ehrmann Wohn- und Einrichtungs GmbH is strengthening its position in the Rhine-Neckar metropolitan region and consistently pursuing its growth strategy. The family-run company, headquartered in Landau (Palatinate), is renowned for its high-quality home and kitchen solutions as well as its strong craftsmanship. Customers at the Heidelberg branch will in future benefit from an expanded product range, new services and the expertise of an experienced furniture retailer.
