Ehrmann secures the future of the Breitwieser site in Heidelberg
Ehrmann Wohn- und Einrichtungs GmbH has taken over significant parts of the business operations and the Heidelberg site of the insolvent Breitwieser GmbH as part of an asset deal with effect from 1 May 2025. The operational handover has already been successfully completed.
With this takeover, Ehrmann is not only ensuring the continued existence of this long-established furniture retailer, but also safeguarding all jobs at the site. The existing workforce has been integrated into Ehrmann Wohn- und Einrichtungs GmbH.
“The situation surrounding Breitwieser GmbH was challenging for everyone involved. We are therefore all the more pleased to have found a strong partner in Ehrmann, which ensures continuity and opens up new prospects,” says Rene Breitwieser, former Managing Director of Breitwieser GmbH.
Ehrmann has also taken over the complete processing of all outstanding orders; any advance payments already made remain valid in full. Vouchers issued by Breitwieser also remain valid for their standard three-year term. A helpline has been set up for customer enquiries: 06221 / 31220.
“With the Heidelberg branch, we are not only expanding our geographical network but also gaining a motivated team and an established customer base. The relaunch under our umbrella is going very well,” explains Horst Ehrmann, Managing Director of Ehrmann Wohn- und Einrichtungs GmbH.
